A Shelter Dedicated to the Welfare of Wild Animals
Hello everyone, I am Nordine, the founder of Albuqaish Jungle, an animal shelter located 40 km from the center of Dubai. Our story began in 2019, when I created this sanctuary with a dedicated team, with the primary goal of helping injured, abandoned, or neglected wild animals. This initiative was motivated by the adoption of a new law in the United Arab Emirates prohibiting individuals from keeping wild animals.
This project would not have been possible without the support of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, who decided to support this cause by offering the initial land, thereby facilitating the creation of the shelter.
Preservation and Protection of Species
It is essential to emphasize that animals born in captivity cannot be reintegrated into their natural environment. Their survival depends on our commitment to them. Our shelter hosts a diversity of species, from tigers to bears, including crocodiles and even hyenas. Each of them receives our affection and attention, and we offer the public the opportunity to get close to them while ensuring their safety.
I want to emphasize that trust between humans and animals is essential. I check the well-being of all the animals every evening, even though cages and bars are present for safety. My animals are like my family, and I feel a strong emotional connection with them.
